Bio
The aerial parts of land plants are covered with a lipidic cuticular waxes which plays a critical role in plant survival by restricting non-stomatal water loss.
I am working on several wax-deficient mutants and using map-based cloning method to clone these genes. Then I will be trying to further investigate the functional mechanism of genes by genetic analysis, yeast two hybrid screening and transcriptome analysis to better understand the cuticular wax biosynthesis pathway.
