Yongqiang Xie

Yongqiang Xie has been engaged in the research of image, video and communication technology for a long time, and has made outstanding contributions in signal processing. Now, he is a leader of the dedicated algorithm group for Chinese video and audio standards, a executive deputy director of Rich Media Committee in Chinese Institute of Command and Control, and a member of China Post-Doctoral Fund Review Committee. He is a researcher of Institute of Systems Engineering at AMS and a professor of School of Systems Science and Engineering at Sun Yat-Sen University. His research interests include image processing, computer vision, multimedia analysis, machine learning, and pattern recognition. He is currently undertaking more than 20 major national scientific research projects. He has published two books, around 50 technical articles in refereed journals and proceedings. He holds more than 100 granted patents. He obtained the Qiu Shi Award, selected as a candidate of the one hundred plus one thousand plus ten thousand talents project of the new century and outstanding mid-aged expert. He was selected as an Expert enjoying the Government Special Subsidy.
