I was promoted as full professor in 2008 and working for Medical College of Soochow University, Suzhou, China. I established Soochow University Key Laboratory of Cancer Molecular Genetics in 2009, and visited University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) as a visiting professor in 2011. We are interested in the association between TGF-beta/Smad signaling and non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). My current research are mainly focusing on four aspects: 1.DNA methylation of Decorin 5'-UTR is associated with enhanced TGF-beta/Smad signaling in high-metastatic NSCLC cells. 2. JAK/STAT3 signaling is essential for TGF-beta-induced epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) in NSCLC cells. 3. MicroRNA-based mechanism underlying reduced expression of TGFBR1 in NSCLC. 4. Non-coding RNA (miRNA, lncRNA and circRNA)-related mechanistic roles in TGF-beta-induced EMT and metastasis of NSCLC cells.
