期从事化合物半导体纳米材料分子束外延生长和表征,光电原型器件设计和制备,是国际上这一领域的引领者之一,取得了一系列创新性研究成果,其研究成果主要发表于本领域国际一流学术刊物, SCI收录160篇,并多次被Applied Physics Letters等期刊封面介绍,研究成果引起国际同行和专业媒体的广泛关注。其中,应变量子点的多层有序自组织,高指数面纳米结构控制,液滴外延纳米材料生长等先驱性研究成果为深化国际学术界对量子限制结构与功能的认识作出了重要贡献。 同时,也积极促进这一领域的国际学术交流,创办并主编了SCI期刊《纳米研究快讯》,任Springer《斯普林格材料科学》和《纳米科技讲义丛书》编辑;创建和组织几个系列国际学术会议,包括虚拟纳米科技系列,纳米互动别墅和游艇系列,复合氧化物别墅系列等等,其中别墅系列会议已成为领域内的主流学术会议。
