Zhiwei Ren

Dr REN Zhiwei received his Ph.D. in Electronic and Information Engineering degree from EIE, PolyU in 2018. He was a Research Assistant (2016-2018), Postdoctoral Fellow (2018-2019, 2020-2022) in the Department under the supervision of Prof. Charles Surya (before his departure from PolyU) and Prof. G. Li. He also worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Nazarbayev University, Kazakhstan (2019-2020). Dr REN is an awardee of the PolyU Distinguished Postdoctoral Fellowship Scheme. He won the Grand Prize (Innovation Category) and the First Prize in the 7th Hong Kong University Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition together with his research team members. His research interests include flexible electronic devices, novel low-cost semiconducting film deposition and metal oxide nanostructure fabrication for functional devices, e.g, supercapacitor, light emitting diodes and solar cells.
