Zhiyuan Li

I am a biophysicist dedicated to exploring simple principles underlying complex biological phenomena. I am particularly fascinated by emergent behavior at various scales, where interactions between individual parts give rise to interesting properties at the system level. Following my training as a physicist, I have not constrained myself to a particular biological niche. Instead, each of my research projects was driven by my enthusiasm for a specific biological problem. In each case, I chose to learn or develop suitable theoretical and computational tools, from complex mathematical analysis, to deterministic or stochastic modeling, to data mining and bioinformatics.
