Since 2002, I have studied the behavior, ecology and conservation of four species of snub-nosed monkeys (Rhinopithecus spp.) that habitat in China. By long term observation and technology of genetics, endocrinology and semio-chemistry, my research aims on reproductive strategies, life history, and sexual selection with aim to understand the maintain mechanism of unique multi-level society in snub-nosed monkeys. I am a specialist in behavior, ecology and conservation in snub-nosed monkeys, showing their diet and feeding behavior, ranging behavior, population status, and conservation plan. Especially, my work has contributed to our understanding of the natural history of snub-nosed monkeys, including firstly find male infant care, male infanticide, male cooperation, female counterstrategies against infanticide, allonuring and extractive foraging behavior. Additionally, I am also currently involved in projects on biodiversity conservation, including the ecology of Chinese pangolin, Himalaya marmot, rhesus macaques, and reducing human-wildlife conflict. To date, I have been awarded many research funding, including five grants from the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and other grants i.e., the National Key Technology R & D Program of China, the State Forestry and Grassland Administration Bureau of China, the Early Career Fellowship from the National Geographic Society and Rufford Small Grant for Nature Conservation etc. I have published over 90 peer-reviewed papers in journals including Science Advances, Science Bulletin, Behavioral Ecology, Biological Conservation, American Journal Primatology, International Journal Primatology, Zoological Research, Current Zoology, Integrative Zoology, Oryx, and Acta Theriologica Sinica. My research has received substantial international and domestic media coverage, featuring in print media such as People's Daily, the National Geographic, China Daily, appearing in documentaries produced by CCTV, BBC, and in popular science books.
