I am interested in host - pathogen interactions, focusing on bacterial pathogens and in particular on the whooping cough agent Bordetella pertussis and its adenylate cyclase toxin. We aim at understanding of the molecular mechanism underlying the action of the toxin. We also work on using it as a pertussis vaccine antigen and as a tool for antigen delivery into dendritic cells for induction of immunotherapeutic CD8+ T cell immune responses.
